About Nutrition

Unasource Nutrition Center is located in the Troy Internal Medicine office.  We offer nutrition education through private sessions with our staff physicians, registered dietitian and by means of group nutrition classes and cooking demonstrations.  Whether you need help with nutrition counseling, weight loss, diabetes, cholesterol or lipid management we can help!

Please contact Unasource Nutrition Center at 248-952-5083

Diabetic Counseling

Being diagnosed with diabetes can be a scary thing but we are here to help!  Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been dealing with diabetes management for years our physicians can offer advice, prescribe medications and offer counseling.

Additionally, your doctor may suggest you see our nurse practitioner who specializes in diabetes management.   She can help with your initial diabetic education, medication administration instruction, nutrition counseling and follow up visits.

Cholesterol Management

High cholesterol is a major risk factor for developing heart disease and stroke.  These conditions remain leading causes of mortality in the U.S.  If you have high (LDL) “bad” cholesterol, high triglycerides, low (HDL) “good” cholesterol, any genetic lipid disorder or a strong family history of cardiovascular disease, then an appointment with one of our physicians could put you on track for achieving a better lipid profile and a healthier lifestyle.

Your regular doctor may also suggest you see our own Lipidologist (cholesterol specialist) on staff at our Nutrition Center.
