Maintaining the health of the executive team of a business is paramount to the success of any company.
For this reason, we offer Executive Health Services. Designed for the busy executive we provide a comprehensive physical examination that will prove beneficial for both the individual and his or her employer. For more information please call the office at 248-267-5000.
Within our office is a full laboratory, which is able to provide comprehensive studies on blood work. This testing is often used to monitor specific medical conditions, test drug levels, or to provide screening for a wide range of illnesses before symptoms occur.
Having a laboratory within our office enables us to get results back to the patient quicker than sending them to an outside laboratory. Any testing we are not able to do in house we send out to Beaumont Reference Laboratory.
Imaging & Radiology
State of the art digital general purpose x-ray equipment is available to image the bony skeleton and lung fields.
General radiology studies can be done at the time of your office visit and the images are available immediately for your physician to go over them with you.
X-ray is also available on a walk-in basis from 8:00 – 4:30 if you have an order from your doctor.
Ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves which are transmitted through the body to produce images of the area of interest. There is no radiation exposure from this test.
Areas of the body commonly imaged by ultrasound include the abdominal organs (liver, spleen, gall bladder, pancreas, and kidneys), the pelvic organs (ovaries and uterus), the thyroid gland, testicles and breasts.
Coronary artery disease is a major cause of death in the United States. Up to one third of all people with CAD have no warning symptoms prior to a heart attack. Traditional cardiac testing methods, such as stress tests, are limited because they detect more advanced blockages and can miss early atherosclerosis.
Troy Internal Medicine offers the latest testing procedures to help diagnose problem conditions early when they are more easily treatable
About Our Services
Troy Internal Medicine encompasses a wide variety of internal medicine care and visits for adults including routine office visits, sick visits, complete physical exams, Medicare Wellness visits, sports and school physical exams, nutrition counseling and Travel Health.
- Office visits – Usually by appointment. Please contact the office to schedule.
- Physical exams – Routine, yearly exams, Medicare Wellness visits, work or school exams, scheduled in advance. Please call 2 to 3 months in advance if possible, as more time is allowed for these visits
Preparation for physicals includes fasting for 10 – 12 hours before blood is drawn. This provides optimal results. Drinking water, black coffee or plain tea are exceptions and will not alter results. If you typically take morning medications, which do not need to be taken with food, thee should be taken as well.
For diabetics, unless you have a very early morning appointment we recommend that you do NOT fast on the day of your physical and that you come in on an early morning after your physical to have the blood work drawn. Our office also recommends that elderly patients or anyone who feels their appointment is too late in the day to fast, return on a separate day after your appointment for the blood work ordered by your physician.
- Urgent appointments – If possible, please call the office to schedule an appointment with your physician. Same day appointments are available. If your physician is not available, you may be asked to see another physician or our physician’s assistant.
- Emergencies – For any potentially life threatening condition (i.e., chest pain, shortness of breath, etc.) please call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.
